There are a few chain bar/restaurants here but some of the best are the homegrown places where you can experience the true flavor of Maui.
Kihei, with its small-town feel truly offers it all for single, couples or families traveling together. The small mini malls offer up a spattering of local goods and flavors, while the smaller hotels and rental condos in the area have sundries shops for your convenience. The Kamaole beach parks (there are 3) offer beach access for the masses and get quite crowded on weekends and holidays. South Kihei offers a bit more seclusion with its beaches, but public access is limited. Great for sunset walks and photo ops, this is as good as it gets here. Additionally, Kihei is home to most of the major tour companies and gives you easy access to diving, snorkeling, fishing, mountain biking, sunbathing or perhaps laying around the pool. |
